Why We Serve
Service is an expression of our faith in Jesus Christ. By following His example, we bring His love into the world and uplift those around us. Serving strengthens our community, deepens our faith, and brings us closer to God. We serve because in serving others, we serve Him.
Serving in Our Congregatins
Personal sacrifice is vital to the religious faith of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Members volunteer their time to serve in various positions in tens of thousands of congregations throughout the world. Their service is critical at the local level because the Church has no full-time paid clergy.
Serving in Our Communities
The two great commandments are to love God and love our neighbor (see Matthew 22:37-40). We follow the example of Jesus Christ as we server and help others. Opportunities to serve others are limitless. As you find ways to serve, your kind words and deeds can lift burdens and gladden hearts.
