You are invited to participate in a FREE FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Administration) course, “Disaster Preparedness and Survival: A Guide for Individual, Families, and Communities” presented by Texas A&M Engineering Department, in consultation with FEMA. The course is 2 days and starts on Friday, March 28 from 9am – noon and 1pm – 4pm and ends Saturday March 29 from 9am – noon, 1pm – 4pm; and will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, East Mea Stake Building, located at 2228 E. Brown Rd., Mesa, AZ, 85213.
This optional course is for those who would like to receive additional practical education and skills for your own preparation of food storage, emergency preparedness, disaster preparedness, and being self-sufficient, your might be interested in this training. Course topics will include:
• Developing a mindset to prepare, act and survive in a disaster involving your community.
• Learn to apply your emergency preparedness to several disaster scenarios.
• Using survival strategies to rescue and care for yourself, your family, and your pets during and in the immediate aftermath of an event.
• Providing assistance in the search, light rescue, care, and safety of your neighbors.

The true first responders in a disaster are you and your neighbor, and this course is open to all adults (including youth 14 and older), within the Mountain View Community, who might be interested.
