Stake Conference is a biannual gathering of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) within a stake, which is a geographic unit made up of several congregations called wards or branches.

Purpose & Structure

Stake Conference is an opportunity for Christian spiritual instruction, worship, and community relationships. Stake Conference replaces regular Sunday meetings on the weekend it occurs. It is a time for members to receive counsel, upliftment, and direction from inspired leaders at a local level. It is typically held over a weekend and consists of multiple sessions:

  1. Leadership Session (Saturday)
    • For stake and ward leaders (bishops, Relief Society, youth leaders, etc.).
    • Focused on Christ-centered training, instruction, and leadership development.
  2. Adult & Other Sessions (Saturday evening)
    • Special meetings for adults, priesthood holders, or women.
  3. General Session (Sunday 10:00 AM)
    • Open to all friends, and members, including families.
    • Features sermons focused on Jesus Christ and His gospel, from local leaders, such as the stake president, bishops, and invited speakers.
    • Occasionally includes addresses from visiting general authorities (leaders from Church headquarters).

Key Features

  • Inspiration & Guidance: Leaders provide prophetic and scriptural doctrinal teaching and encouragement.
  • Community Building: Members strengthen relationships with others in the stake and the community.
  • Sustaining & Callings: Members sustain stake leaders and may hear announcements of new callings.
  • Music & Worship: Hymns and choirs enhance the spiritual experience.
